Is my image suitable for the size I want?

We understand that not everyone has the knowledge that we have when it comes to photographic Perspex acrylic Art, that's why we have prepared this simple guide for you to follow when sending us your images for printing.

The general rule of thumb is, the larger the image the better it's going to be for printing. Keep this simple rule in mind when choosing the images you want to have printed.
Its not always as easy as looking at the size of a file to determine whether its suitable for printing, many different factors have to be taken into consideration before you can decide what will make the perfect image.

DPI

Dots per inch, also referred to in the printing world as DPI, DPI lets you know how much information is contained within an inch square of your image. E.g. - Images viewed on your computer screen contain 72DPI; this is more then suitable for viewing on your monitor but would be extremely poor for printing. The general rule for quality Perspex Art is 300dpi.

File Type

Sending your images in the correct file type makes a big difference to the final outcomes. Most people are probably used to working with jpeg's. Jpegs are images that are compressed to make them easier to attach to emails and send through the web. On the other hand formats such as RAW contain no compression and are usually used by professional photographers who prefer not to loose any quality when sending the image to us. The other formats we accept are EPS & Tiff files.

Image Size & Enlargement

We kindly ask all our clients to leave the image enlargement process to us. Using our specialist software we are able to enlarge your image to the size you require. Image enlargement or interpolation are very complex subjects and if not carried correctly can result in your Perspex acrylic art looking very poor in quality.

Generally speaking any images that are 1mb or over in size are suitable for all our Photo Cubes and smaller sized panels, 3mb + are ideal for the mid sized panels and 10-20mb are needed for the large panels such as A0 and above.

If your image won't enlarge to the size you require we'll contact you at the first instance and either resize your order or make a full refund.

If your unsure of the quality of your image please email it to us prior to ordering and we'll confirm the sizes it will enlarge to.
